Alright lets post them up! Any tournament you know of that is taking place in MN, lets get the name and date (or last years date just for planning purposes).

Muskie Shootout, Leech Lake, October 12-13. Host resort is Horseshoe Bay Lodge. Just got the permit and the website will be updated shortly. 2013's tournament will have more prizes and a higher payout. Stay tuned....

Lake Vermilion Muskie Challenge in August every year out of Fortune Bay Casino.

The St Luis River event is considered boarder waters,.. so I think either a Mn.or Wi. license would be OK. You better check their rules though.

Yes you can fish the st. louis river with either a mn or wi license. Tournament information should be on the website soon. Registration is now open!

Whats the word on the Metro Muskie Tournament?

Last I checked I couldn't find their website anymore. Sounds like the tourney info is now going to be spread by local musky bait retailers. It is usually the first saturday after musky opener.

You don't need both to fish the st louis but they have a law in place if your a mn or wi resident you need your state license. If your from any other state you can fish with either mn or wi non resident license. Trying to keep the locals from saving a dollar and the state losing one.

For tournaments, is it standard for the minimum length to register a fish 30", 40"? (Specifically Lake Vermilion Muskie Challenge in August)

I believe that you are correct. However, I've wondered how one could save a dollar or two by purchasing an annual non resident vs their own resident license in either?
