Its hard for someone to fish off the back, but I troll a lot and like the open area. So I compromised and made a rear deck extension that is only 10" wide but doubles as a lure box. The extra 10" is night and day fishing off the back of the boat plus I still have plenty of room to troll without having to step up onto the back deck.
