What's the latest from the Cave? What's everyone thinking with the weather being so warm there now. Will the fish hurry up and spawn or will they skip spawning this year? And if that's the case then how will that effect them? Will the females die or shed there eggs somehow or can everyone expect to catch super fat females if they can get them to bite?

If they happen to skip the spawn the females will not die. They will simply digest their eggs over time. Most will drop them eventually. Hard to say how the bite will be in the near future.

They may skip it all together. I started off doing well but have been struggling the last 2-3 weekends.

Does the natural reproduction in cave run account for a good majority of the fish or are they mostly stocked? What is the current water temp?

How long does the spawn typically last? And wabout how long does it take for them to recover? I know they are going through the motions only, but do the fish get as worn out and beat up? Just wondering what to expect the 2nd weekend of May.

I have caught fish with scars. Its really a crap shoot to predict. They were done spawning by the end of april last year. But it had been a lot warmer. Pmtt caught a ton of fish, this year the fish may be in shutdown. Just never know.

AR, if your fishing with one of tonys guides, they will put you on fish regardless.

I will be with a guide. I am just wondering what to expect with this crazy weather. I'm new to this game and trying to figure stuff out. I prefer fishing by myself and trying to figure it out on my own, but the spring special Tony and Greg run is just awesome.

Hi All! Fished yesterday water was 51-53. Just need to get the weather a little stable and it should be good to go. Kind of tough for example when this week we are going to be in the 80's then 50 on Sat and Sunday. But for all you guys up north where the only Spring is on your tailgates, it is absoluty beatiful down here right now. Enjoy!

Fished this weekend with no luck. Raised a few fish in Scott's Creek. Hit pretty much every nook and cranny. Not much luck from others we spoke with either. Cold front and spawn seems to have shut them down at the past few days. Water temps ranged from 57-60. Weeds were not up yet but we marked a lot of bait fish. Good luck to everyone fishing the coming weeks and those in the PMTT next weekend!

Does anyone have any new reports for Cave Run? I'm heading over tomorrow to fish Saturday and Sunday.
