Do you guys buy two chips or just switch them from the console to bow. I don't want to spend another 150$, but i am worried about ejecting them so much.

I use 2 different ones navionics platinum at the helm and lakemaster up front for the I pilot. I like navionics for navigation purposes. they offer a lot more info on buoys and hazards and things of that nature.

All Lowrance Gen 2 and Gen 2 Touch units can now share maps thanks to a new update. If you have these units check out the new update.

Any idea if the same goes for the Elite-7 HDI units? Or would I need to get two chips - one for the bow unit and one for the helm unit?
