Posts: 31 | I will be fishing Cass lake the last week of August. If anyone could give me some suggestions on baits or structure, that would be great. Just got a gift certificate to musky tackle online for my birthday so looking to buy some new baits Thanks

Posts: 785 | A lot of guys on here could give you better advice than me but from what I've seen and have been told the fish out there go for a lot of browns, gold and other natural baitfish patterns. Lures themselves are just standard blades, topwaters, plastics etc. A nice thing about Cass is fish show really well so hopefully fishing weed beds and rock spots you can locate some fish to help you know when your in the right areas. I think late August should be a pretty good time to be up there, hope you stick some good fish. Andy Swinton

You can score big fish out on the main basin, finding weeds and rocks is key, a lot of sand out there. I like the bigger bars north and east of star island in the northern half of the main lake. Good Luck!

Posts: 374 Location: Bemidji | Cass is my favorite lake to fish. To guys that have never been on it start in Allen's Bay. The lack of weeds on the main lake would make a typical MN muskie angler go crazy. Colors that work well are whites, browns, yellows, golds. Give me or Brian a call if you want a guide.
