| Took the boat out for a trail run today. I think I need some help with my Maxxum, it's on a 2003 boat so I assume that's the year model. My other Maxxum on the previous boat I had the foot pedal a little bit before completely level to make the boat go straight. On this Maxxum I need to push it almost all the way to the floor to make it go straight (Toes to floor, not heel). I know I can adjust this somehow, I just have no idea at the moment. Thanks |

Location: Stones throw away...finally!! | Can you just loosen the collar and spin the head/shaft to where you need it so that straight is more middle pedal? |

Location: Kronenwetter, WI | You have to take the top of the head unit off first. Make sure the motor is pointing straight ahead. Then you will see the cables going around a plastic part tht sits on the gears that turn the motor. Carefully loosen the tension screw on the front of the foot pedal. Then lift the plastic part with the cables going around it off the gears and rotate it one way or the other ( you will notice the pedal move as you rotate it) and then place it back onto the gear head. Do this so that the pedal is flat and the motor is pointing straight. One you have it, tighten the tensions screw, and replace the head cover. That's it. |
