| hey guys, i just purchased a Lowrance elite 7 and im wondering would you guys get a chip for it or just use the internal gps on the unit? also if you were to get a chip which one would you get? thanks for the help! |

Location: Kodiak, AK | Depends on where you're fishing. If you can see the whole lake from your boat and you just need a GPS to mark a spot, or you literally know the lake like the back of your hand, then you can probably get by fine. But I love having the detail of a proper chart.

Location: Algonquin, IL, Lake Geneva, WI | esoxfly is correct, it depends where you fish. If you are in the Midwest, I would recommend either the Lowrance Insight Pro or go with one of the Navionics Premium cards. The best way to do this is to go to a store that has the cards and zoom into the lakes you fish and compare the two head to head. |

Location: Hopefully on the water | Montei, I would go with the Navionics chips myself personally. I have the same unit that you are running and have the Lowarance and it is alright IMO. I need to pick up one more and it will be the Navionics for my choice. |
