I just noticed that after about a year of use, my pacemaker's prop is wearing down from the hook ticking it. I noticed last fall that I needed to reel it faster to get the tick, and now I see why. Anyone have this issue? I suppose there is nothing I can do about this.

Try a different hook shank, maybe longer or different size.

Take the hook off and attach enough split rings where the hook was. It will be a different sound but still works great.
