Location: Lakeville, MN | Wondering if anyone can give me some advice. Just purchased the Lowrance HDS8 Gen 2 with Insight maps, which includes LOTW. For fishing LOTW, would the Insight map it comes with be enough for navigation and fishing effectively? If not, I understand I would need a Navionics chip, since Lakemaster no longer supports Lowrance. Then the question would be, is Navionics Premium enough, or should I spring for the Platinum chip? Platinum shows shaded 3D contour but only on some lakes so far. It seems that both the Navionics Canada chip and the North US chip have the same LOTW map in them, though the Navionics website says "partial survey" for LOTW.
The more I learn, the more there is to learn. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Will be fishing Sabaskong or the Angle. |
