Posts: 1360 Location: Lake "y" cause lake"x" got over fished | I like the Super and Mega Ds, Also their super ciscos are good crank and twitch baits. But that is the only experience I have with any of their baits. I am interested to try one of those 16" grunts though

Location: Minneapolis | Trolled the grunt a little bit last season and it has awesome action on it, unlike any other lure. Hopefully it will have teeth marks in it this season.

Posts: 96 | I have used just about every lure he makes. They all are very well built and have great action. I am really fond of the nokken for casting or trolling as well as the Cisco, and spinnerbaits. I want to try thetubes out still. Super D,s of all sizes are awesome as well. I am hoping he does a tin tail or multiple tail version eventually.

Posts: 4053 Location: Land of the Musky | Gobble! - 3/19/2013 8:34 PM I have read a lot about TI rods but what about their lures? Seem like good prices. Hi Gobble, In short my philosophy on lures was, "build a better mouse trap and charge a fair price". You will notice some of my lures are similar in appearance to the originals but many of the lures I redesigned the guts. Good example is my SuperD line. My first generation SuperD was to improve price but they fell a part like others in the industry. I soon realized a good price did not really do anything if the lure was crap. I designed a full body coil harness for the SuperD lures to really lock the plastisol body onto the harness system and walla, a swimbait lure that can boat multiple fish and still be used. Another good example was my Super Cisco. For this lure I saw a few similar balsa wood lures being made but after some research I found that fish like musky, tarpon, durado, etc can literally break a balsa lure like this in half. A little materials testing and I found that a lure made with high impact ABS could withstand about any abuse any fish can dish out. I can even pound nails into boards with a lure made form ABS. A little tweaking with the internal weights and body design and the lure ran great. Similar stories on my other lures too as well as my musky rods. I could charge more but it was hard for me to start fishing musky due to the cost of the sport. My vision is to make quality tackle for a good price so everyone can fish. The funny thing is, in this economy I figured I was not going to do well but last year we grew the Tackle Industries business significantly and I think its due to our customer service, price structure and quality. I know many will say "you get what you pay for" but I hope many realize that sometimes you get a lot more... James

Posts: 4053 Location: Land of the Musky | Re: "double tail" Personally I really like the Rubber Hairy Tackle double tail. Its one of those areas that right now... I see a lure that fills the gap very well. I would like to make one someday but right now I have 5 other lure lines in mind that might fill a gap with more market/sales for me. One lure I just got ready is a small 10" tube. Tubby Jr lives! I just need to get it in the hands of my retailers now

Posts: 2024 | I have 5 different brands of double 10's and James' are hands down the easiest to start spinning with a simple retrieve. 1 well known brand often requires a quick pull of the rod to start spinning.

Location: Northern Wisconsin | TI lures are great. Good lures, good prices. They came into the market at a time when another lure company was selling "junk" ie split rings that could be easily pulled apart and harnesses that came out after a dozen casts.

Posts: 349 | I caught my first two muskies on a TI double 10, nickel blades/rainbow skirt. I've also caught some big pike on the Nokken, but no muskie action yet. When I look at your website now a nickel/black style color combo is no longer available for blades. Why do you not offer what is arguably the most popular blade color of all time? That's my only complaint! James' prices on double 10's are outstanding though.
