| Lets say you fish while holding the fore grip as opposed to palming the reel. Your wrist has quite a bit of flexion and/or ulnar deviation (your wrist is torqued) while holding the fore grip. This would put your wrist in a neutral position, reducing a significant amount of strain throughout the course of a day and would put you in a position for a more powerful hook set.
I've never seen a product like this, but had considered doing something similar. |

| Use some foam like pipe insulation over the foregrip....Tightly winde whatever wrap you are going to use as the outer layer. As funny as it sounds after trying most "wraps" out their i have found electrical tape to work the best as well as last the longest AND its cheap. |

| Tennis Racket Tape. Also use the soft grip stuff. I use the latter to fill in the space between the foregrip and the reel seat. Then beef up the overall diameter with the Former. Make sure you get the green stuff that comes off easily. You can use the cheap white athletic tape, but it leaves a residue behind. Not a game changer, but if you can avoid it, then why put up with it?
Great modification to rods, I do it to all of my casting set ups before the season starts. Not only does the extra thickness help, it also provides a semi soft top layer which is just a tad easier to hold onto over the course of the day.
My last 2 customs were built with thicker overall foregrips as a result of using this modification. Something to think about if you are having rods built. |

| Agreed. I have all my customs built extra thick and use tennis tape on the others. I actually like the tennis tape more. No matter how thick you build it up though, changing the position of your hand in a "pistol grip" manner as shown here makes a huge difference! |
