| They are changing this boat for 2002. It will have the vertical rod boxes like the 16.[:((] Looks like if I want this boat I will have to get a used one.[:(] |

| Todd: Don't be so bummed out[;)] , I have the 2001 Mr Pike 16 and the "Horizontal" rod Locker works out just fine[:praise:] , It will hold at a minimum of 5 rods and I could put more in but it starts getting tight.

| No need to worry. The 2002 Mr. Pike 17 DID go to the vertical rod locker.... which in turn gives the boat 12" gunnels. BUT, the 2002 1700 Angler is the EXACT same boat as the 2001 Mr. Pike 17.
If you ordered a 2002 Mr. Pike and are expecting the same boat as the 2001.... you are in for a BIG surprise! The dealer I just talked to over lunch told me "nothing has changed on the 2002" but when I asked about the rod locker and if it was any bigger in the 2002. We walked out to the warehouse and opened up a new one to measure.... and he just about soiled his pants when he saw the same gunnel as the Pro-V series. Totally different boat in my opinion.
Good thing Lund covered their rear-ends by upgrading the 1700 Angler.

| The angler is the old mr. pike but has the old angler depth which is 2" shallower than the pike. 135 rating now and the IPS hull. Not a bad deal. They saved face. I also like the 20" alaskan. |

| The new Mr. Pike 17 appears to be a cheaper 1775. Can't figure out why Lund did this. |

| Take a look at the Crestliner 1750 Fish hawk it has a 7'6" rod locker and a 50" livewell, It's a great boat! It is almost the same boat, I have one and I love it. Also the boat is made by Genmar the same co. that makes Lund and they are a little bit cheaper in price. Check out thier site www.crestliner.com I think you will be impressed
