Posts: 245 | This has nothing to do with muskies, but i do ice fish for pike when i have too. I've seen on a few ice fishing videos that they have a small red or yellow oval shaped thing on the line that sits in the hole. I'm guessing it's some type of anti-ice thing? What are they called and where can i get one? Thanks for any help!

Posts: 245 | No i dont think it's a bobber or and it's not a tip-up... I might be just remembering the wrong thing from those videos :P I think its some type of thing you put on your line and insine the oval thing you put some type of anti-freeze liquid so that the line cal run freely even if the hole gets full of ice.

Its called an Ice Stopper The HT Enterprises Ice Stopper Line De-Icer Kit is a revolutionary system that virtually eliminates ice forming on your line even in the coldest of conditions. Ice Stopper keeps your lines, rod eyelets, and reels ice free for hours on end. With this patented system, you can be sure your line will not freeze in your fishing hole, allowing you to detect the slightest bite. Ice Stopper truly opens the door for more effective ice fishing techniques and set-ups. Put away your tip-ups and enjoy the fish fight with a proper rod and reel.

Posts: 245 | toddb I disagree, ive done plenty of both and i prefer the rod and reel. I use Okuma Magda 20DLX and the drag works perfectly even in freezing temps.
