Looking for resort for the wife, 16yr old son, & myself. I've been checking websites but would like to hear some experiences good & bad to help our decision. This trip is more about numbers & less about size of muskies. Decent walleye & smallie fishing for family times on the water are a big plus. Will be bringing our own boat & groceries. AML is out of our price range, really wish it wasn't though.

If your trip needs to be more about numbers than size I would scratch off Eagle. Great lake that has a awesome walleye and smallmouth fishery that will keep the kids and wife busy but it can be a tough one at times for musky. When my son was little we went to AML and he had a great time but it was all about the walleyes, fly-in's and 4WD trips that kept him interested for the week.
I would pick a drive to resort on LOW so they have acsess to go shopping or whatever if the week gets long for them.

If it's more about numbers rather than size of muskies, then LOTW for sure, as the population density is quite a bit higher in most parts of LOTW. The best population densities of muskies in Eagle is Osbourne Bay, but I don't know if Century Lodge would have anything in the price range you're looking for. LOTW is also loaded with walleyes and smallmouth, so you'll do fine there as well.

Another advantage to LOTW is that you can fish after dark if you wish. So you'll have more time for all of your multi species adventures. I've never really enjoyed having to quit at dark on Eagle.

Good luck with whatever you decide.

Been to both lakes multiple times, if I was stictly fishing for big fish I would choose Eagle. If it is a first time thing go with the numbers on LOTW, you will have a lot of fun. Go to either the NW Angle or Sabaskong Bay. I love the thrill of being able to see tons of fish a day. Best day we had was 35 seen with 6 in the boat in one day.We also had better luck walleye fishing on LOTW. Pull up on an underwater hump anywhere and catch them.A good website to check is the chamber website for both Morson and Northwest Angle. We will be heading back to the angle on July 28th this year. Good luck.

Youngs Wilderness Camp
Alot of muskies in a relatively secluded location! Hardly ever see another boat unless you go all the way out of Stevens Bay into Sabaskong Bay

I highly recommend Tamarack Island Wilderness Lodge near Morson. It is located on an island in a section of LOTW that does not have any other lodges close by and the fishing is fantastic! The video "Musky Madness by Badfish Outdoors" was filmed at this lodge. If Ty Sennett and Gregg Thomas leave the good muskie water they live on to PAY to fish from this lodge then fishing must be pretty good, right?

have fished both, once I went to LOTW, never went back to Eagle. I see Tamarack wilderness island lodge was mentioned. Todd the new owner is a great guy and the location of the lodge is really good, cause like Eagle, LOTW is BIG. Been staying at Tamarack for years now, loved each trip!
