Posts: 278 Location: Finland | hey guys i though id share once more couple of pic of a new model I've made for the up coming season. im not sure if you have this species over that side of the pond but this time around i tried to imitate european roach ( rutilus rutilus) im not 100% happy how it came out but im sure the pikes don't care as much as i do how realistic the baits look lol, anyway enjoy the pics. -Mikko Attachments ---------------- ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

Did you really carve out those scales, they look great as does the whole lure. Was this a model for casting, great lure a true craftsman.

Posts: 278 Location: Finland | yep i did really carve all of those scales for the first model then i just figured since it came out looking so nice i should make a mold out of it. takes little bit of time to do the carving so its not exactly a fast process, i think i spend probably 15h or so to just carve the scales which is considerably faster than the previous swimbait i did so i must be improving at it i guess :D

Posts: 1405 Location: Detroit River | Those kick major butt! I'd cast those with high confidence that they would put some musky in my boat. I like those colors. I know you've probably answered this before, but what type of paint do you use?

Posts: 278 Location: Finland | thanks alot guys much appreciated Zib - 2/3/2013 8:30 PM Those kick major butt! I'd cast those with high confidence that they would put some musky in my boat. I like those colors. I know you've probably answered this before, but what type of paint do you use? i use this Finnish brand called CAB, they are solvent based paints made spesifically for lure makers after all there are heck of a lot of use over here but the unfortunate thing about that is that since the paint line is solvent based its not being sold outside Finland, i guess there are some Eu regulations that you cant send solvent based paint over the post to other countries or something like that.

Posts: 4266 | WOW! I am a fan of the Rudd after I saw a few photos of guys toting them around in a cooler to use for bait. The pictures really made me think that a Rudd-shaped and colored lure would be a great addition to the glider box, and you nailed it! The shape, the color and those blood red eyes, it really looks awesome. All that carving talent really shows in the lure. I say bravo! Someone remind me to never put up any of my Rudd colored lures after I paint them. I have to look at those some more. Beaver
