Too slow for a standard all around reel. Get the 5.4:1 for most applications. Unless you plan on throwing mostly double 10s or 13s or slow moving topwaters like Hawg Wobblers or creepers, I'd stay away from this reel.
And me being right handed I'd also get the 61 so that I don't have to pass the rod to my other hand after making my cast. Its a wasted effort IMHO :7D |

| Although maybe slower than some would like for certain baits, it is my go-to reel for many deep cranks and double 10's. You won't be able to "burn" 10's, but it does pull them nicely. I know a few guys that like using them for fishing large rubber baits in fall because it helps force them to slow down their retrieve. It's an awesome reel that has stood up to a lot of abuse from me, I'd recommend it. |
