I came across the issue yesterday and am going to get it framed and hung on the wall any idea on what it's worth?

Also would the sport of musky fishing be where it is today without the magazine?

A minimum of $50 depending on condition due to its "rarity of availability".

I think the answer to your second question is yes, but it certainly has had an impact. Likely the Internet and sites like this one have also had a tremendous impact on the growth of the sport, not to mention the vast increase in TV shows muskie oriented.

The issue is mint in my eyes but it's just amazing to read articles and look at the magazines from the late 80's early 90's and see how far along the sport has come along with technology and know how! Its pretty cool to read back as im 27 and didn't start musky fishing until i was 19-20 years old.

What is the date of the 1st issue?
I think I have every issue except for the first one or two that were printed.

Last year I put that issue on Ebay with a $7.50 starting bid and $25 reserve. It received one bid for $8.00. No where near $50.

Admitedly the book market is currently depressed, but I've sold more than one copy of the first edition MH and got $50 for them. Timing is everything and a willing/wanting buyer must be available.

I have every issue of Musky Hunter mag ,,, even have the miss-print 1994 June/July issue and the corrected issue......
I have every issue of Bill Shue's "Musky Notes" ,,,, most are just printed/folded/stapled paper issues ,, with the exception of one actual magazine .....
I have every issue Pete's "Esox Angler" also.......
I thought about selling the collection ,, but the shipping costs would be more than the collection is worth ?!?

I've heard of them going for upwards of $50 also, but the bottom has pretty much fallen out of the market for books and such.

What am I missing about Propster and Musky Mod's replies?

The best part of the early MH Mag's is seeing first hand how catch and release has impacted the fishery. You look at the old issues and most big fish are low fourty inchers, heck they don't even print them now. Also you used to see way more dead fish in there back then too.
