Posts: 1023 | Which inline planer board will track the farthest from the boat and pull the biggest baits? • Church Tackle - walleye board (I have used these - they were okay) • Yellow Bird "Big Bird" planer - are these bigger better than Church? • Offshore tackle planer Buying two asap for the occassional fall trolling I do on St Clair. Thanks Landry

Posts: 1023 | Thanks Bill. Are they similar in size to the Church or offshore boards? And they pull 8 - 10" Jakes well? Do you feel they are better than these 2 boards as well? I emailed him btw. Landry

Posts: 1023 | Those look good too - now I am cnfused as I had my mind set on the striperaddiction aluminum ones. That big daddy size looks like an even better choice??? Landry

Posts: 295 Location: Southern Ontario, Detroit River and Lake StClair | Landry Skip the little boards and go right to a set of big boards. For only running a couple lines off each you don't even need a mast, you can tie them off to your front cleats and they will work fine with a properly designed pair, I do it with mine. I've been fishing LSC for almost 30 yrs now and have an excellent set that aren't huge to store. I can send you the measurements for them if you want to make a set. Total cost for the set will be under $20. Little boards are ok on calmer days down here but I've yet to see a little set that can handle a good LSC fall chop when pulling a big bait. You'll get a better hook set with big baits of big boards as well by getting rid of the "bobber effect" when a little board gets pulled under on the strike. If they worked that great you'd see more guys pulling them out here. On this body of water big boards are king. Good Fishin' Tim

Posts: 1887 Location: syracuse indiana | well the ones i have are like12 to 15 inches long , they can handle any bait you want to pull and they go way out from the boat.. darn near straight along side. they will pull and hold the bigger baits to the smaller ones. and they are like 30 bucks for 2 of them.. now he does not have the bigger ones on his site. i got them along time ago. but he can make them special for you.. .. the clips he sends with them work ok but you can change themout to the off shore ones or any other that you like, i like the adjustable tension ones

Posts: 1023 | I appreciate all of your input and the posts were very helpful. Having said that - I am going to go with the aluminum ones as they are cheap and functional. I primarily cast. If I trolled often I would likely go up to the regular big boards as Tim suggested. But, these boards are just for backup in the fall when I cave in and drag lures. Thanks Landry
