Posts: 427 | Do you know if they are still a Flueger Trion or just the old ones. My dad has one of the newer ones and has had pretty good luck with is. Not the tightest reel on earth but it has held up well.

I don't think that Pflueger makes the Trion in a round baitcast reel for themselves anymore. I have not worked on a newer model Bass Pro reel but it appears it is still the Pflueger Trion. Dave Badger Reel Repair

Posts: 340 Location: Lake County Illinois | I picked up a few clearance reels at bass pro a few years back and was told they were the same as the pete maina round reels but silver, they were browning six rivers series and did look identical, they have held up pretty well but have just been used for back ups or loners.

Posts: 909 | Does anyone work on the gold Maina reels anymore! I have 4 or 5 that need repaired! I own a lot of Big name reels too and the Mainas can take a pounding with the best of them! ( They need repaired because they were fished hard close to 200 days a year!)

Location: Northern Wisconsin | The pflueger trions are good reels. I was turned onto them by a well known chippewa flowage guide. Mine has been going strong for 8 years with only the worm gear needing replaced. I am waiting for it to blow up so I can buy a calcutta but it just wont give up.

Posts: 1901 Location: MN | Brian, I have a few parts on hand and can and do work on them, mostly my own. I'd be happy to clean, lube, and repair any you may have for $10 plus the cost of parts. PM me if interested.
