| So lets have it! What's the best left handed reel for the money. I mainly throw right handed but after blowing two cheap left handed reels last year it's time to upgrade. |

Location: Van Buren, Indiana | For the last three season's for my Shadillac's, Mag Dawgs, Kick N Minnows, 10" Kraves, Topwaters, rattlebaits, and dbl 8's in the spring, I have been using 2 Revo STX lefties. I have never oiled them or cleaned them until this winter. I dropped them off in Chicago, to Pikemaster for cleaning and his Pimp'N. They have been bulletproof. But I do not throw any 10"s period. If I throw 10's, 12's, or 13's I use Pflueger trion 66's, cant't burn them, but they are not a high success bait for me in Indiana so I do not care so much. I actually orderd two more Revo's Monday from ffo-tackle.com (where I bought all of them, even the Trion 66's) a Revo STX 7:1:1 for a little more speed, and a Revo S 7:1:1 Right hand for the "wierd" ones who reel backward! LOL! No really for my buddy who currently uses a BCX 5600. STX was $138.00 and $118.00 for the S. I think if you fish with them correctly they are fine. I would have saved and bought a Toro but they are mainly wider spooled, same guts on the inside, so now I have four reels instead of 2 at the Toro price!

Location: Lake "y" cause lake"x" got over fished | The Revo Toros are all nice. Both the HS and the Winch are good reels. But the New Revo Toro Nacl's are supposed to be really nice. My buddy just bought one and really likes it. You can also get the 5:4.1 gear ratio that they intiailly took away from the origanal Revo Toro's.
I am also a lefty, so this will be the next reel I purchase. Or I may go with one of the New Calcutta D's in lefty, heard that those are great as well. |

Location: Dawson, MN | Revo toro hs has out performed my calcutta at 2/3 the cost. I throw all the big stuff super models pouders etc on both and the revo has shined. |

| toss up between toros and calcuttas for me. I did have to have my toro repaired twice but they were minor things. My 401 te has been bulletproof but I really like the low pro feel to the toros though I wouldnt hesitate to use either reel in any situation.

| Revo Toro 61 5:4/1 reels all the way...... Low profile, great line capacity, Load Clicker,has level wind, very light in weight, choice of several power handles, and fantastic drag system.............And Pikemaster could pimp it to your specs/gear ratio Need I say more.... Mike Sr. |

Location: Canada | Used my first generation Abu Garcia 61 Toro HS & Winch for three seasons and just now sent them into Pimp My Rod And Reel for servicing (definitely need the upgraded kick levers). I just bought a used Calcutta 401 TE to use for big plastics next season as I was switching my Abu Garcia 61 Toro HS back and forth from my jerk bait rod to my big plastics rod before and even threw pounders with it. Lots of good reviews of the Calcutta TE for big plastics so hopefully I won't be disappointed, just wasn't feeling confident the Toro HS was going too hold up to throwing big plastics. I owned a 301 Shimano Curado for a while but it just didn't feel right so I sold it and switched to the Abu Garcia Toro's, first the Winch then liked it so much I got a HS. |

| Overall? I'd say calcutta te. I say that not having casted a calcutta D. I picked up a used te on here as cheap as I have ever seen one listed. I shipped it off to pikemaster and the rest is history. That reel may actually cast better than my other calcutta te which I bought new and hasn't been used much yet. Extremely smooth and powerful. I have to finish getting my other stuff out to pikemaster. |

I have a few 401 TEs and a 301 Curado. All great reels in my opinion. Once Pikemaster worked his magic on them, I'd even say they were better than new.

| I Loved my revo until a gear went on it and drag assembly needed replacing after a year of use. My TE works just as good as the day i got it after a year of use. Picked up a Cutta D and it is the smoothest reel i have ever used. I like to describe the reel as butter. Got it this fall so i cant make any comments on hwo they hold up. Hoping Pikemaster will give his 2 sense! |
