Was curious what line you all use. I typically use 80, but really only throw mags. Dawg

I agree with Kirby. For Mag Dawgs 80lb will work but if you're going to throw Pounders or Double Dawgs it's worth the investment to go to 100lb. Since you don't plan to the throw the latter that often I suppose 80lb will suffice, but 100lb is preferred for Pounder-sized lures.

What reel works well with 100? Seems my toro 60 would lose efficiently with spool capacity. Dawger

I was thinking about the old days when all we had to choose from was 30# monofilament (a long rubberband) or 36# braided dacron (had to retie the line every couple hours) ,,,, LOL ,,,, would be a challenge casting the big heavy lures we have today !!! -------- <*))}}}}}}}}}}}}}><{{ -------- jim

Location: Hayward, WI | I've been using 80 for everything including Pounders. The only time I had 80# break even on the heavy baits was when it was a year old and should have been flipped to the fresh end. With that said I should switch to 100 on my Pounder rod. I would feel a little more comfortable with it on the really heavy baits.
