Location: minnesota | I'm getting myself confused over connecting different humminbird units and modules and what data can be shared and what can't. Hopefully some of you guys can help me out!
Say I have a 998C, a 958C and a minn kota ipilot link and 1 GPS antenna. What's the best way to network these all together? Do I need an individual transducer for both the 998 and the 958 or is it possible to run the 958 off the 998's transducer? Is the AS ETH 5PS 5-port ethernet switch all I need or do I also need the AS Interlink? |

Location: Hayward, WI | Do both units have Ethernet capabilities? If so you will need the 5 port switch and a cable and will not need the Interlink. I think you would want a transducer on the trolling motor and one on the stern. |

| Imo the best way is to use Ethernet cables to link the units together if they both units have the Ethernet connection. I know you can use one transducer with Ethernet. Not sure if you can with interlink. If you use the I-link you have to use Ethernet and have sonar units with the Ethernet connections. Interlink will not work for I-link. I'm not sure if you need the port for I-link or not but I do know you need the new 2013 lakemaster chips to use the follow the contour feature. |
