I have att and t and can get coverage whereas I know a lot of people can't get anything with their provider up north. Virgin has some killer prices, but coverage doesn't look good. Anyone have a good handle on what providers work good in northern musky country. Voice is not important, but txt's are very useful for networking with friends on the water.

West End cabin owner Big V.

ATT&T is the best for texting and phone--

Funny the worst signal strength (2 bars) on the whole lake is at our cabin---everywhere else signal strength is much better.

We can send and receive texts even with 2 bars at the cabin.

AT&T works great in cook, tower and pretty much everywhere I've been on the lake. Really bad signal in the cabin...so I go out to the lake to make calls.

I have AT&T and wasn't getting reception at all in Wolf Bay in Late September. Unfortunately, I missed a conference call at 11:00 and had to fish instead... Otherwise, I had a decent signal on the lake on both the east and west end. The area around Bayview was very weak, but my phone has a weak antenna it seems.

hoping for someone to chime in with a service other than at and t. It's what i have and had decent enough coverage up there, but looking for alternatives the prices are way high. I guess you pay for that coverage and to be honest up north is about the only time I care.

I guess it depends if you are calling locally or long distance,,,,,If local has crowded has vermilion is just lean over and tell the guy in the boat next to you the message and to pass it on to all the other boats and it will get to your cabin

and FYI sprint sucks up there

I have Verizon and for the most part it's great. I can send a text from anywhere besides a few dead spots in head of the lakes, I was able to talk at spring bay in there cabins with no problems. But once I'm into wakeemup bay voice coverage is spotty. Central and east is great for text and voice.

Verizon user and west end cabin owner. My son has att and had better reception at our cabin. I get no voice coverage at our cabin while AT&T users have a strong signal. My Verizon coverage is better out on the lake but there are a lot of dead zones. B.
