We got the presents opened, ate the banana pancake breakfast, watched a little bit of Ralphie and the Christmas story, and then headed out to the river hoping to catch a Christmas muskie before the front moved in.
Fished a couple of hours and didn't think we were going to have any hook ups and then we moved up the river a ways and found a spot where an underwater spring was boiling up into the river. Water was about three degrees higher in that spot than in the rest of the river, but it was very high turbidity. Made a few casts and then this 40 incher latched onto my lure and went into high gear. She made about 5 runs up and down beside of the boat before we could get her into the net.
Took her out, snapped a picture, wished her a merry Christmas and sent her on her way. Made for a great Christmas day for me.
Hope everyone else has a great Christmas also!!

Great story. Nice fish. Happy Holidays. What about a 50 on New Years Day?

That is definitely on my mind. Musky Hunter magazine had a picture of that fellow from Ohio that fishes the PMTT that they call Groucho at Green River Lake with a 50+ incher that he caught last New Years (I can't think of his name). I saw him fishing there several times back last winter and he had just caught a 50 incher one day while I was there. I'm hoping that I can fish GRL during my New Years Holiday break from work. Yep! A 50 incher would be a great way to start off the new year for sure!

Happy Holidays!

Licking river or close to green river lake?

Neither, really. I was in the Green River, downstream from Green River Lake by about 120 river miles.
