Location: Land of the Musky | Nate, I like the tail on your bait. Do you get a lot of action with it. You might try beveling one inwards at the center point. This will give you a vortexing current of water behind the tail that might make it wiggle in a natural swimming action. I have a few prototypes where I wanted a natural looking tail and tried this. Gave me good action on the tail.

| James, I'm actually working on a swimbait right now that will have a "hollowed out" tail segment. I'll be sure to post some pics of the finished lure because it's pretty different. I'm hoping for a lot of tail flap on that one. This bait has a beautiful swimming action, but the tail piece is synchronized with the rest of the segments as you might expect. Fun stuff to experiment with! Thanks for the compliments too! |
