I'm new to musky fishing and this site. Have learned quite a bit from all ot you by reading, thank you. Now for my question. I run a 1725 pro guide as my main rig. Love the boat and all it is....but it dosen't fit every landing and situation I fish or want to fish. I also have a 1542 jon boat that I purchesed as a project. Would you guys fish that for small lakes and rivers? Or get a bigger welded jon or a smaller deep v for where my bigger boat won't or I don't want it to go?

That sounds like it would work great. My second boat is an onld. 14' tuffy and its great for the river near me. I take my net, a rod, release tools, and a small plano box of lures. Oh ya dont forget the camera!

Yes, There are places I wont take my e-mag, a jon boat with a 9.9 can go just about anywhere and is light enough to drag into places the tuffy cant.
