Location: Ottawa Lake, MI | I bought a new fish finder for the front of the boat. I was planning to put a transducer on my trolling motor but its not going to work with my motorguide wireless. So I'm just going to put the transducer on the back of the boat next to the other one. Will this work or will they interfere with each other? If so how can fix this problem. One is a hummingbird and one is a lowrance. |

Location: plant earth | i have a lowrance main unit and a garmin on the trolling motor and they totally screw with each other.if they are both on neither will read depth. i have to turn one off to use the other but alot less expensive than trying to keep up with technology. my stuff is only a couple of years old maybe its just my set up. i guess other equipment can act differently. but my stuff isnt broke so im not fixing it i dont think the fish mind if i use one or the other.

Location: Mt. Zion, IL | My dad runs his transducers off the back of the boat and there are no problems. One is on the starboard side and the other is on the port side of the boat. Both units run at the same time. Lowrance said to play with the ping speed if the two have interference and you do not have a choice as far as frequency. This should help. |

Location: Nordeast Minneapolis | Two seasons ago, I thought I was being brilliant by having a depthfinder-only unit installed on my dash next to my GPS-combo unit... so I could have a full-screen map up on the GPS unit, and full-screen depth on the finder. I took it in to a local shop to have the install done, which they happily did (and charged a FORTUNE for!). First couple weeks of fishing, I could NOT get the things to work right... I assumed there was something wrong with the depth finder. Eventually we discovered the two were interferring with each other, and there was nothing I could do to get them to play nice. Ping speed, sensitivity settings; heck, even aiming the transducer for the combo unit straight back out of the boat didn't help. Eventually I scrapped the whole system and got a widescreen humminbird. Very expensive lesson for me.
Are you absolutely certain you can't make the transducer work, mounted on the trolling motor? Maybe other bracket options would be available. In my experience, mounting both transducers to the back of the boat is more likely to end in frustration than success. |

| On Hbirds even if you select 83 only the 200 is still pinging. It always uses 200 for bottom depth. So switching frequecies will have no effect. |
