I have a lake that has ramp access by a bar. This is the only lake access. The bar went under and went into forecloser. They maintained the landing. The township had complaints that kids were partying there and vandalizing the property so the put a gate up closing access to the landing.

My question is this...Is it legal they can close the landing and access down to this lake?..

DNR has agreements with some establishments to keep landings open on lakes that the state owns frontage on. If the state doesn't own frontage on the lake you're probably out of luck.

If the landing was privately owned, they certainly can. The way I understand it is that the DNR has to purchase the property in order to have a public boat landing.
