Location: Minocqua, WI | Anyone have a recommended service for reel repairs? Last weekend during early morning hours my Curado 300dsv completely froze up on me.... After opening it up, gears were locked, clutch broke, and the main plastic piece located in center (gear shaft I think?) cracked in multiple areas.
Located in Chicago... Preferably looking for a local guy or a mail-in place. I'd fix it myself and order new parts thru Shimano but my familiarity with these reels is none. I feel it needs major repairs... if so and if paying the amount what reel is worth, then a new reel is in order. But I'd like to get it fixed. If I had to guess, it's the original version reel, so it's about 5-7yrs old now, so no longer under warranty.
