Does anyone know about the Lowrance x-15 GPS and fish finder unit? I am thinking of purchasing one, any reviews or thoughts anyone can give would be appreciated.

Great unit! The sonar is the best I've used to date. I also have the WAAS enabled GPS module, and the HotSpots chip. I have no regrets since I purchased mine. The only issue I have is with the HotSpots Map. I wish you could move the map to a know point, as it tends to be off a bit.

I think Jason, Mark H. and DaveJ will agree that I have a great unit!

I have been using this unit for 2 years and absolutely love it. I have had several problems but Lowrance as usual is very good about correcting these. I also updated to the WASS and use the Navionics maps . There are some accurracy issues with these maps but they are an excellent tool especially when fishing big and unfamiliar waters.
I highly reccomend this unit, however do not purchase the dual frequency transducer. I have had 3 of them go bad . Seems to be some kind of problem with this transducer. The dual frequency is not needed for fresh water anyway. I just like to have all the available capabilities.

There is one screwed to the dash of my new Ranger...I've only used a few times and am still waiting for Shep to come up and show me how to run the darn thing...next spring we'll get to it. I am not the sharpest knife in the drawer when it comes to "widgets". []

I loved Shep's when I was in his boat, so far I like mine.

I've always been a fan of the Garmin products but the X15 has restored most of my faith in Lowrance.

Good luck...

Mark

$129 for WI, MN, And IA. Also covers LOTW. Go to Navionics.com, and look for the hotspots maps. Region 5 I believe.

Mark, you had your chance to work with it on Sunday! I'll be going Friday, and possibly Saturday again. You are welcome to come play all you want!
