Posts: 580 | Agree with Beaver. Some of our absolute best days on the water have been in early fall, during the first really nasty cold front...as the weather is moving in. Rain, snow, sleet and wind...the nastier the better.

It's a good time to have friends on the water who will share the needed intel so that you can maximize your time.

This is still my first year doing this.. Whenever I go to Tonka I usually fish two sand spots and then spend the rest of my time on deep weeds and usually see some fish out in the weeds. What is generally the water temp when they go shallow and start to feed around those channels? Thanks

Posts: 906 Location: Warroad, Mn | I also like cooling temps in the fall. But this may be a little too much of a good thing. From the NOAA for the NW Angle of the LOTWs. Thursday Snow. High near 37. Windy, with a north northwest wind 29 to 32 mph, with gusts as high as 41 mph. Chance of precipitation is 80%. New snow accumulation of 10 to 16 inches possible.
