How do the regular 7in 5\8 ounce suicks throw on 80lb braid. I about picked one up today but I wasnt sure if Id even be able to cast that light of a lure

Don't expect to cast 30 yards, but a dam fine bait that really shines sometimes. With the mounting hardware and stock hooks, perhaps have some tip to you rod and a drag not cranked all the way down.

The back hook on mine gets caught on the body fairly frequently, how does everyone fix that?

They tangle a fair amount. Some causes could be wind, casting style. You could try T-ing the hooks. I just make sure I keep my thumb on the spool and stop it right before it lands. Less arc, more bullet in the cast if that makes sense.

should have no problem with the proper casting control on your reel. set your spool tension right and you should be able to cast her at least 25 yards.
