Location: In the Weeds | I was fishing tonight and I was the only one using suckers, but i was the only person I saw boat a fish in 6 hours of fishing and it was on a sucker. Am i using suckers earlier than most? What time do you usually start using em? Just curious thanks.

| not sure where the theory came from that suckers are some sort of fall weather thing?!?! or what old timer came up with that idea..... I use and have success with suckers from opener 1st weekend in may thru ice up. If you can get them they work ...it's food remember... this summer we were using them in 75 degree water and they worked well...fish to 47.5" in Vilas on them in July.. |

Location: Hayward, WI | I don't have a lot of experience with using suckers, but I don't use them when it's warm just because they are tougher for me to keep alive. I'm sure you can figure out a way to keep them ok, but I usually wait till the air temps are a little lower and the water is somewhere in the mid 60's or so. Without jumping through too many hoops, they just seem to keep better for me with the air and water are a little cooler.

| the sucker bite has begun. We saw a guy boat a very fat 46" inch fish on Saturday mid day on a Vilas county lake. We went to Rays Landing to get some suckers and we boated a nice 38" within a couple of hours. We thought that it was still a litlle early, but apparently not. |

Location: Price County WI | We sell suckers almost all season long but start getting big loads of suckers in the store for Labor Day weekend thru ice up, I know for sure that you are not the only one using them by seeing how many have been sold already.... |

| Get the big suckers if you can. They are expensive but the small suckers get eaten by small pike and catfish regularly. Keep them cold (around 50 degrees) and you'll be fine. |
