I already have an 8 foot TI rod and was looking to get another one for rubber and big blades. Looking at the 9 foot XXH telescopic rods...does anyone use these or have opinions on them? My other rod has been great but its a solid blank and was nervous about the telescopic one. Any help would be appreciated. Also, I'm assuming the XXH handles big blades and rubber just fine unless someone says otherwise...Thanks!

I have a tele TI XH split grip and love it. I do not really feel any difference between this and my TI XH solid full grip I got a year ago. Get one and I think you will be happy with it.

I have one and love it. The only problem is that all my rods are not TI telescopic. Seriously, if they were I could store them all in my rod locker, since they're all not, my telescopic sits out with the rest of them...I plan to slowly transition to all telescopics as they need replacing.

I have the 9' TI XH and the 9' TI XXH, both telescopic. Like a previous poster said, after fishing these, I wish all my rods were telescopic. My 9' TI XH is my double cowgirl rod, which I feel it handles quite well. I have thrown Pounders with my 9' XH, but the 9' XXH is much more suited for Pounder duty (I have even thrown 2 Pounders with it). I wouldn't be hesitant at all from buying the telescopic rod, unless of course you will fear that after fishing it you will want the rest of your rods to be telescopic, which may happen. Just overall Great Rods.

I have the mh and xh telescopic split grip rods and they r great...the length helps make deep 8s easy and fit in the rod locker! When I pick up an 8 footer it feels short. TI is great to work with and responsive if you want to email him with q's.

Ryan,

I ran the 9' MH tele this summer quite a bit, and while a bit undersized for great hooksets with big lures, it was serviceable. The 9' XH, was money for big blades and rubber(mag dawgs and medussa type deal). I beat these rods up quite a bit this summer, and have nothing but positive to say about them. If I was throwing anything smaller than the heavier double 10's, I'll be running the MH, but I prefer a rod that loads up a bit more, and prefer how they fight fish. However, if I only had one, a do all, crescent wrench type that I wanted for bigger topwater, heavy 9's, 10's 13's, and rubber, XH. I will try the XXH this fall with lbers etc. and will let Greg know how it works.

I have two 9'0 XXH Telescoping... one's regulated to bucktail duty while other's regulated to big rubber duty... Its an excellent all-around rod!!! Best investment I've made when it comes to rods!!! Definitely will be a repeat customer when it comes to those rods!!! It bomb-casts Monster Medussa and Pounders with no problem, excellent distance... same goes for blades, especially Hurricanes...

Will the MH throw double 10's?

I have 5 TI rods now. Sold my 2 Thorn Predator and SC rods two years and loaded up on TI rods. The MH will handle double 10s fine but for a really nice figure 8 with double 10s you will want the XH. For my double 13s I love the XXH rods. They are also the perfect rods for throwing the MegaDs and Pounders too. I do like my telescopic rods a little better than my solid 9s too. I do not have a storage problem but its just nice to have them collapse if I am not using them. Was a little worried from other telescopic brands not working well but so far my TI telescopic rods have worked like a dream and I read a lot of great things here about them too. I did snap one tip on one of my rods and it was my fault and not the rod but James with TI took care of me. I bought another rod to ship with my warranty replacement rod and could not have been happier with TIs customer service. These rods are as good as any custom rod or SC rod I have ever owned at fraction of the cost. You won’t be disappointed.
