Hunter,
For my fishing log I use an excel spread sheet. In the columns I have any pertinent information such as date, wind speed, wind direction, lake, air temp, water temp, moon phase condition, areas fish were seen, areas fish were caught, and effective baits.

By using an excel spreadsheet this information is then completely sortable. After a few years of keeping a log you should be able to sort through the current conditions you are faced with and find a feasible pattern to start your fishing trip.

I base my log with my memory. This does not work well, if at all. You are on the right track to keep some type of log for all your trips on the water. Remember that info out is only as good as info in.
