Hey guys, I just wanted to share with you a bad experience that happened to me yesterday. I was out fishing with some clients and after a very cold and uneventful day on the water we returend to the boat landing to find that my front tire was flat on my truck.

I was disappointed because the last thing I wanted to do was have to change a tire while I was freezing with one of those cheap screw jacks that come with a truck. Well then we noticed that the trailor tire was flat. At this point we figured that something strange was going on. After checking out both tires we realized that both of them had been slashed.

It was very disappointing to see this kind of violence at a boat landing in NO. Wisconsin.

Lucky for me I had spares for the trailor and the truck and within an hour we were back on the road. It was still a pretty bad way to end an otherwise enjoyable season.

That is absolutley sickening. I live in the same town, and really hate to see this sort of stupid, mindless behavior. I hope you called the incident in to the County police so they have a record. If it continues, maybe they will be motivated to watch the area.

I have a couple extra used spares ready to go, 14", at the house. Stop by anytime, one is called for, one is yours.[]

Thanks Steve, I'll probably swing by one day this week because the tire they slashed is NOT repairable.

I did report the incident to the Oneida Co. Sheriffs Dept. Hopefully they can come up with something for me. Very sad deal.

I hope they find the *&$% that did it too. My season is not over yet but last year it ended in a fishless day and when we left my dad took a trip into the woods to take care of business and tracked dog #%$^ all over my boat carpet and I had to clean it up.[:(]

Sorry to hear about that. I got the air on all four tires drained on Okauchee once. I saw some kids there in the morning when I got there. I thought, this is great, kids fishing instead of causing trouble. The kids put a half dozen crayfish on my windsheild wippers as there calling card. I figured it had to be those kids with the crayfish and all. My wife got a 45" that day and we were really happy until I had to deal with the four tires.

Since then I have had to replace two tail lights from folks that can back up trailers. I really hate launch violence.....[:knockout:]

Crawdaddies on your wipers?? At least the kids had a sense of humor...I carry two cans of fix a flat in the back of my truck, but would have been short two in that case![;)]

Sounds like a cute little prank with possibly deadly results. Mabye one time these pranksters are going to start slicing a tire and almost make it through, when a car pulls up and they have to stop 3/4 of the way through a sidewall. The victim drives down the road, has a blowout, gets killed or kills someone else. This IS a serious crime and needs to be stopped. If this is a reoccuring problem at a given ramp the public needs to know to be protected. Gone are the days when we try to cover up problems for fear of losing some tourist $$$$'s. Remember the movie "JAWS" ?

John, sorry to hear about that. That kind of **** really sucks. Anything I can do let me know.

Our lakes are still open down here and I haven't had any vandalism problems.

Hey guy's I think it's up to all of us to try and help each other. I was fishing w/my brother about 10 yrs ago down in Florida- same thing happened- slashed tires. I always take note of what's happening around the launches/places I'm fishing. Mid July this year = obviously young couple who had absolutely no interest in fishing, "don't bother knocking if this truck is rocking"! Just last Monday local river launch, late afternoon- disabled guy getting BJ- I'd think these folks could find somewhere else a little more private, even though they weren't doing anything I would consider objectionable. -- If they're not fisherman- what are they doing? I note the license plate # etc. It just takes a second. At least the local law enforcement can ask them what they saw![:0]
