Am heading up north hit the muskies for the weekend. With the cold front hitting up there and dropping water temps am looking for any advice if this late summer cool down might get the muskie bite going? Shallow or deep?

It depends on the water you want to fish. The darker water will be shallow, clear stuff primary breaks, and two story suspended. Look for sand grass too.

I had meant to go up there this weekend too, until I heard about the 1000+ others.

Cold fronts in the summer are usually not good.

If you're inclined towards live bait, now's the time for it, because I would not expect much with artificials.

50.5" by friends of mine yesterday during the cold front ...

1000 boats disappear quickly up here if you know your way around ...

too much pressure and there are no big fish in wisconsin though, so yah ... best to stay home.

Last night you had to stick your hands in the water to warm them up. Muskies were going good on topwaters.
Of course that was in Iron county. Vilas is a whole nuther deal.

Cold fronts get 'em going on many Oneida waters this time of year. Fact.
