Location: Northern Illinois | Anybody have any thoughts on what the best jigs are for 5-7 inch suckers targeting muskie? I've been using just the standard issue walleye type in the 1/8 - 1/4 oz range, with good success (southern zone BTW), but the hooks are bending and I'm afraid that they will just straighten out on some bigger fish. Also, the hooks are kind of small. Maybe there is a particular brand that has a larger and sturdier hook, but is still in the 1/8 to 1/4 oz range? |

Location: Madison, WI | Take a look at the Fin-Tech Title Shot line of jigs.
Magnum series goes down to 1/4 oz with a good 8/0 hook.
Regular series goes down to 1/8 oz with a good 5/0 hook.

Location: Eagan, MN | I've caught a grand total of one muskie on a jig and sucker minnow, but found that a regular bass jig worked well. Try something like a j-mac. |
