I tried to post 2 pics but no success. Maybe the file size is to big I don't know. Anybody have a surefire way of doing it?

How about posting pics for super dummies? Like how to use a scanner, where the file goes when you save it. I have to have a pic in the computer before I can even post one. I can't even crawl let alone walk.[:knockout:]

Make sure the file is under 250K and I usually log out first then put in my username and password and attach the file, then type my message. Just make sure your cursor does not go into the message body space before you attach it. Just keep trying, unsuccessful posts will usually be weeded out by our excellent moderators when they have time. Good luck.

OK- here goes-it's telling me the file is attached and I didn't log out.

Todd- I just scanned this and saved it as a jpg file. Then checked the file size using Window's Explorer.

First open Windows Explorer and create a new file folder, f. ex. "My Images". Then start your scanner program, scan the photo. Make sure it looks the way you want it too. Many programs will allow you to play with the brightness, contrast, color and orientation of the scanned image. When you have it the way you want it, click on the file menu and save it as a jpg file to your new file folder. Try to keep the file name simple. Now go back to Window's Explorer and check the file size, for some reason I seem to have better luck posting jpg files that are under 100kb.

Good Luck

Ok-let see if it goes the second time. Now this is very strange as I didn't do anything different! I didn't log out and I went through the standard attach a photo/file process. Seems like there's some little bug running around the MF upload process.

I think my pics are too big. I tried to figure out how to compress them using my image software. How can I convert a 400kb image to a smaller one to upload?

Lynn- I'm using Microsoft Photo Editor- When you chose save as, it gives me a window with a "more" button which when I click on it, opens another window where I can reduce the file size w/ a slider, I usually set it for ~50%. If you're using Microsoft Photo Editor- after you saved the file you need to go back and reset the slider to 100%- or else all future files/photos you save will be reduced by the same amount.

Good luck,

Al
