Posts: 32935 Location: Rhinelander, Wisconsin | You can get a tiller kit installed on almost any hp motor.

Location: Contrarian Island | i think you are going to be capped at 200 hp....and you feel or want more than that on a tiller??? Ranger 620T will put a 200 on as will a Lund 2010 guide steve, you are saying if you wanted a 250 hp on a lund or ranger tiller you could put it on??? isn't the max hp the max hp for the boat...? there is a used 2012 LUnd tiller w 200 hp on it on another popular classified site...check it out. Posts: 32935 Location: Rhinelander, Wisconsin | Any boat over 20' no longer requires a USCG HP rating or restriction, that's considered a 'ship'. The builder can choose to limit HP as a liability issue. Plenty of 200 HP tillers out there, have seen a few 225 and 250s.

Posts: 68 | Whatever big tiller you decide on, I would definitely get a power tiller handle, if the budget allows it. Just my 2 cents worth. Edited by Dave F 7/28/2012 2:53 PM

Posts: 633 Location: Madison, WI | so isnt the biggest advantage to a tiller boat is all the extra room you gain without having the console? seems to me that lund with a tiller just lost its appeal by sticking a giant console in the middle?

Posts: 29 | Check out Warrior boats there 2090xst with a 250 etec ho is smoking fast if I remember right it was a mid 60's boat. There is a ton of room and a great casting deck on the front and also a small one in the back for one guy. The factory can rig ya up with about any motor you want.

Posts: 32935 Location: Rhinelander, Wisconsin | Gary Roach had the first tiller/console boat I have seen, and the walleye guys like 'em. Obviously, it's an option.

| I have a 2011 Tuffy 2060T with a 175 E-Tec! The hp ratings are different for tillers, at least in the tuffy lineup. The 2060 is rated for 250hp but the tiller version is rated for 200hp... my 175 E-Tec pushes her at 46-48mph, it also has the power tiller steering system so its a breeze to drive! | |||

Posts: 315 | So as for the ratings on a ranger 618T if it is 90 do you have to stick with 90 or can a guy now put a larger motor on as well?

Posts: 433 Location: Cedarburg, Wisconsin | I think a 618T with a Seven Marine 557 would be the ideal rig!

Location: Contrarian Island | according to Steves info above..only boats over 20' can go over the max hp rating...618 tiller is under 20'.....
