| I am interested in hearing if any of the Pro's have fished this flowage, and how it produced for them. It's located about 20 minutes west of Crivitz, WI.
I made a move from the Fox Chain in Illinois (sounds like good timing on my part), to living in Green Bay. I have been hitting the flowage with some regularity, but have only boated some small fish. The waters are very stained, and the cabbage is great. There are excellent deep water drops, and basin's that make-up a good part of the flowage. It is 1,200 acres, and the DNR has it listed as an A2 class lake with some sizeable fish. I'm not finding them. What do you guys think?
Thanks for sharing.

| I have fished Caldron Falls several times over the last couple of years but not enough to give you any pointers. I am still 0 for though I have seen some nice follows there. If I remember right, Caldron is more of a numbers lake and High Falls (just below Caldron) is for bigger fish. Last time I was up there I talked to a guy just coming off who had boated a couple over 2 days. Said yellow bucktails with a splash of red was the ticket. Straight yellow wouldn't work...had to have the splash of red.
There is a guide up there named Mike Mladenik who fishes both. I have never fished with him but my uncle has been out a couple of times with him. Uncle says he is very good and has put him on fish every time. That was on smallies although I know he guides for skis too. Anyway I have talked to Mladenik a couple times at the Milwaukee Sports Show and he told me that the Menomonee River was also very underfished for skis. Might be something to think about.
I don't have his phone number but Mladenik should be in the book. I think he lives in or near Crivitz and possibly guides out of Popp's Resort.
Hope this helps.

| Scott,
Thanks for the pointers. I have been in touch with Mike. He seems like a pretty nice guy, and able to give me some insight on the flowage. I have boated a couple of small skis, but nothing to write home about.
I will try the yellow bucktail! I don't think I tried yellow, but have thrown everything else.
Thanks again,

| Don't forget the red accent.
Family has property around Pembine. Getting kind of late in the year for plans this year but keep me in mind for next year. When I get up there, I'd be glad to share a boat. Maybe we'll hit on the secret tactic.
PS The bucktail thing was very early in the year. June sometime if I remember right.
Good Luck, Be Safe,

| Scott,
Thank again. I sent you an email. We'll have to go out some time when you come up. Maybe I'll know where they're at by then - lol.
Thanks,
