I agree w/ Justin, they don't really need to be better. I think the slight cost increase is due to the saltwater resistant coating? The selling points for me are the availability of 5.4 gears and improved and longer power handle.

Can I pre-order a 5.4:1 60 size?

Yep, contact RHMS! They are taking orders already.

What is RHMS

I assume it means Rollie & Helen's Musky Shop.

'I would hope something was upgraded to support an increase in price. Maybe it's because these new ones are saltwater reels?'

Did you see the handles? And yes, they are salties, and therefore a bit more money.

Pikemaster, how do you rate the 'heavy-dutiness' of the original revo toro against, say, a 400te?

Nice reels, I have a Toro 60 Winch with an extra set of 5.4 gears, looks like I'll be getting the 5.4 gears in the new one so no more swapping.

$20.00 more over the stock Toro.

What plastic parts on the toro do you consider the most critical? I can see several non-loadbearing plastic parts, but is there anything in the actual drivetrain that you think should be metal?

Also, shimano went with a lot of the same plastic on the calcutta d. Do you feel that's a step back?

A question: In the above video is the product manager saying "N A C L" when describing the reel. I know he says "or salt reel", but what are the letters he is saying, and what do the lettere stand for ?

I gotta ask cuz I didn't see this anywhere, unless I missed it, but does this reel have a non disengaging levelwind?

Thanks.

All Toros have a synchronized level wind which is a different way of saying non-disengaging.
