| A friend of mine went under water for half a block when the edge of a sand bar unexpectedly broke off under his weight. It threw him into current and he was lucky to touch bottom so he knew which way was up. He thought he was done for.

Thanks! I have been taking my son out to a few sandbars by my house. Never even crossed my mind about this. You just sent shivers down my spine thinking about my 6 and 7 yr old kids fishing with me over the next few weeks on those sandbars. Thanks for the note.
