Thanks! Yeah I find myself working bigisland alot. I guess it's just a matter of getting to know the lake better. I fished the highschool tournament today and took second! My partner and I are moving on to state I'm super excited. The next lake we're fishing is bemidji and I've never been on it... Does anyone know if it's clear or stained? And what some hot colors seem to be on that lake? I know bulldogs look like they will work real well out there..

Lake bemidji is a clear lake. It can get green from alge but not yet. White swim baits over cabbage beds I hear works well there.

Call Mike Hulbert. He guides there in the summer. Check his website for his cell number. He posts on here also. Seems like a super nice guy. Tell him it is for the tournament and he may just give you some great advice. Good Luck!!

Feel free to give me a call anytime regarding tips for the high school tournament. The Bemidji High School is having their qualifier on Little Wolf Lake tomorrow am. We have four teams competing for the chance to fish the championship on Lake Bemidji. If you are a high school student I will point you in the right directions. 507 456 9023
