Posts: 1149 | Nice fish! Towards the end it was tough to watch (6:09). I hope you're prepared for some comments. The boga obviously did not serve any purpose. I would recommend getting rid of that and getting a couple Lindy gloves. When the fish shakes then you don't have to worry about being poked. Not saying I've never dropped a fish though... I did once.

| Mciever, great job on getting a boat load kids on the water!!! Best part of the video was all that laughter and those smiles...bet those kids will NEVER forget that trip! That was an amazing net job...calm, cool and a perfect scoop! Nice job all around...more lessons learned in one day on the water than a whole year in college!(including the one about gloves) | |||

Posts: 4 | The Boga does rotate so it wont tear your wrist or hand up, thats why you pay $$$$$ for them but worth it. Nice fish and great that you have the boys there to teach them, great dad.

Posts: 1887 Location: syracuse indiana | if you like the boga, i have one thats made of some tough non breakable plastic. and it floats too. i dont use hardly at all. i teach clients to use the musky armour gloves and hold them right. so that they know how to do it when they are on their own.. if you would like to see it i can post a pic of it. they are cool and only run around 12 bucks...bill Edited by archerynut36 6/8/2012 6:01 PM

| Your grip seemed very loose. It was obvious you weren't too crazy about putting your hand in the fish's gills like that, but when you are tentative like that that's what happens. You have to look at the fish, give him your mean face, slide your hand up there, and give it a death grip. If the fish shakes you HAVE to shake with the fish. Don't lock your arm. When you catch enough you'll understand better. Good that you ordered the gloves. | |||

Posts: 1023 | I find the boga really good for controlling the head as I unhook the fish while in the water and net. Do not use the boga to lift in any way and it is a tool that lets you get some hook removal leverage while keeping your hands safe. I was hooked badly once and learned my lesson - best 125$ I ever spent. Cheap knock-offs don't last and don't rotate so you have to pay for the real deal. Landry Nice fish - I like how excited you and the kids were. I caught a 48" fooling around with a dawg off our dock last summer with my kids - man were they ever pumped!
