Posts: 258 Location: Madison, WI | Hey, Question for you guys who really love Weagles. I'm thinking about getting one, but curious as to which size you like the best. I'm not really interested in the Baby (5.5 inch) size. Debating between the 8 incher (4.2 ounces), and the 10 inch version (7 ounces). Please respond to let me know which size you prefer. Planning to pick one up for a mid July trip to Minaki / LOTW. Thanks in advance for any feedback! "Jackpot" John Schroeder

Location: Des Moines IA | I definitely prefer the 10 inch weagle. I find it much easier to work fast without diving. If I'm fishing it slow and loud, either the 8, or the 10 work well for me.

Posts: 4080 Location: Elko - Lake Vermilion | Get both,.... When you raise that Big Mama on the smaller Weagle and she doesn't eat, use the 10"Weagle as a throw back lure ,....or Wait and come back to her at dusk using the bigger one.

Posts: 2894 Location: Yahara River Chain | I would suggest to buy the bigger one (10") and borrow the smaller ones (8") from that guy you borrowed baits from last night. I also know he has a 1-eyed willy as well that you can use. Say Jackpot didn't you tell that guy that you would return his baits today? ![]() ![]() ![]()

Posts: 258 Location: Madison, WI | Well yes, muskie nut, I did tell him that I would return his baits today, but when I stopped by your (err, I mean "his") house earlier today, he wasn't home. So I had to go back a second time.... I've never had an overdue item yet on my muskie nut public library card to date. (although somebody's black prism grandma is resting in peace at the bottom of Pipestone Lake...oops!) P.S. Thanks for letting me borrow the B.S. Willy so I can test drive it before making a purchase decision. John

Posts: 2687 Location: Hayward, WI | I might go against the grain a little and suggest the 8" Weagle. I have both, and just seem to prefer the 8" a little more. I feel like it might be a little more versatile, but in all fairness I use it more and am more familiar with it than the bigger one. Both of mine are Mojo weagles. Have not bought any since Suick took them over. Hard to go wrong with either size though. Tucker

Posts: 922 | Go with the 8. I have a bunch of Cady originals that I have been fishing since he made them for me many years ago. Note that if they are diving on you ... You are fishing it too fast and not enough slack in your line.

Posts: 494 Location: midwest | I agree 8" cady (4.4-4.7oz range seem to be the best ones). If I want a bait to work faster I'll throw a fish stick HD.

Posts: 32904 Location: Rhinelander, Wisconsin | The Cady Weagles were very inconsistent, and some worked while others did not. The Suick Weagles are very consistent and work as well as any Baldy or the Cady crew built.

You can buy an old beaten up Cady for $60 or a new Suick one for $22. I never had one but I think the Cady Weagles had a white spot airbrushed on the top of their head.

Posts: 2894 Location: Yahara River Chain | i have 3 of them. I know one is a Cady as I bought it from him and I also know one is a Mojo. The difference I can see from those two is the split rings being used. The Mojo has triple rings and it looks like the Cady has Bucher type split rings. The other one i picked up at a garage sale has the Bucher type split rings but does not have the white dot on the top of the head.

Posts: 349 | I bought an 8" weagle off the classifieds... the color pattern is crappie which I don't see listed on suick's website and it has a white spot on the head. Can anyone tell me what kind of weagle it is? Attachments ---------------- ![]() ![]()

Posts: 39 Location: NE Twin Cities Metro | tswoboda That is a Cady color pattern. I havn't noticed the difference between Cady/Mojo/Suick Weagles. I do notice a difference in the Cady/Mojo Wabul's though. Haven't tried a Suick Wabul, but I LOVE the Cady Wabul's. Mojo's are good too, but the Mojo Wabul's I have seem more bouyant than my Cady Wabul's. Just a preference thing in my mind.

Posts: 1106 Location: Muskegon Michigan | I have all three and they do NOT sound the same or work the same. The Maple Cady Weagles were much heavier and yes were inconsistent . I have a 4.8 ounce one that will go sub surface if you Fish it too fast or try to fish it from the back of the boat. Now most people would say that sucks. However throwing it from the bow while slowly moving forward is awesome. The Suicks swoosh but are so bouyant they act more like a Reaction strike. They are worlds apart. Lukes Mojos were kind of in between and both the Mojos and Suicks fish better faster. My Cady Weagles force you to fish slow or death march it. In Productivity ? My Cady's ? 63 fish all the others combined ? 3. All three models are good baits to have as some situations require a faster retrieve. However I have yet to see the Cady out produced on my boat.
