| I'm heading down to Lake Shelbyville for the first time Sat. Nov. 2nd. If any of you could offer some advice on areas to concentrate on I would greatly appreciate it. I am considering hiring a local guide, but there are 3 of us going, we would have to do a follow boat situation. Any recommendations on guides would be appreciated. Bait patterns/colors, water clarity info, temp would be helpful. Thanks for your time, CMH | |||

| You're in luck kinda...! The Lake Shelbyville Musky Club is having an outing this Saturday as well. We will be launching out of Lithia Springs. I'm not sure how many boats we have signed up but we start at 8am (launch at 7:30 or so)so feel free to look us up and chat some. I'm driving a Brown Ford Club Wagon with a green Crestliner with Suzy tiller. Everybody is partnered up so can't help you there any. The word from this past weekend is main lake points, flats, and areas around rip rap. Stay with bright colors in any style lure but it sounds as though the guys trolling deeper stuff are doing better. Sorry, I can't help you with a guide per se but if you meet the club members at the ramp they'll certainly help you out on the water. | Jay, I was wondering how you and the club did Saturday? I got to the launch around 8 am. We went over to the south shore of the Lithia cove and got the rods out. We each made about 3 casts and my cell phone rang. My pregnant wife had to be rushed to a hospital via an ambulance in Chicago. (She's ok) Couldn't believe it. We drove 170 miles, launched the boat, made 3 casts, and had to fly back to the launch, load the boat and fly back home. I couldn't believe it. It turned out to be a damn kidney stone. So, I was just wondering how the musky were behaving Saturday. It was turning out to be a beautiful day, I had a good feeling about our day until it was abruptly ended. Up at 3:30, 340 miles and 3 casts...... I hope you all had a great day. Thanks again for your info last week, take care, Steve | |||

| We had five boats out with only one 36" fish caught around noon near the back of Buoy cove. The winds picked up mid-morning blowing straight out of the west which made for a chilly day if you were on the east side of the lake. Another guy came down from up your way and reported one 37 caught in Possum Creek cove. All in all it was slow. Hope your wife is doing ok...and sorry to hear about your long trip you had to cut short. Post or email me direct any time you head this way... [email protected] Jay Jay | |||
