was just wondering if you all seem to catch fish in the fall with the same colors you had good luck on in the spring and summer months or dose the cooler water change the pattern?

That's a good topic.

I have seen that the fish tend to like more Orange colored baits in the Fall. I have also noticed that Red seems to work well when the water is cold. It doesn't seem to matter if it's Spring or Fall.

I'll be interested to see what others think.

Interesting question.

I have always changed to more natural colors for fall presentations. The thought being, the muskies should be going on a feeding binge to bulk up and I figure the closer I match normal forage the better. I catch a lot of muskies with this approach, but who knows perhaps I'd catch as many or more with louder colors. It's just that I just rarely use them so if I'm catching muskies I'm catching them on natural colors.

I find that the rude colors work well in the fall .Firetiger,chart.black dot, orange tiger, chart. tiger. The louder the better. [:0]

I'm with MuskyMike on this one. In the fall I tend to go slow, big, and natural. I throw alot of sucker, perch, walleye, crappie, and shiner colors, and tend to leave the gaudy stuff in the box. If they don't move on the natural stuff though, all bets are off.

I find myself changing by water clarity not by season. One thing that happens in the fall here is bloom decreases tremendously. In baits where I have a large selection of color such as suicks, I tone down with more clarity. My first choice on any bait for the first one I pick is more of natural coloring than anything guady. Currently my water is green on both ends and clear in the middle and I change accordingly. I also mute down turbulence in clearer water. Still put on the flourescents at dusk and in the rain though.

Boss Hogg was some shirt tail relative,
but I never claimed him or owned up to it....[:0] [:sun:] []

Oh, and Daisy Duke was me relative too,
and even in Hazzard, that ended anything going on there!....[:((]
