| I'm in need of a GPS/Chartplotter and don't know what I should get. I don't have the need for much, if any sonar capabilities, I just want to be able to have a decent idea of lake contours and the ability to use a navionics or lakemaster chip. Prefer to spend under $400 but could go higher possibly if needed. Ideas? |

Location: Chisholm, MN | I got a 788 humminbird for 450 on sale. Awesome unit. An lowrance elite-5 is the only other one I know of for fairly cheap. Not a bad unit. |

Location: Chisholm, MN | Oh I see that you just want the chart plotter. Either one of the above units are available without sonar I believe. I like the bird a lot more though

Location: Duluth, MN | I'm going to go the android tablet route and download the navionics app for it. You can even get waterproof cases and ram mounts for these now! 10" color screen GPS and navionics maps for a fraction of the cost. Personally I think this is the wave of the future. |

Location: Rhinelander, Wisconsin | You can also buy a waterproof tablet. About $300 with a dual core processor and the newest OS. |
