Bought the new Trinidad 16 last year and was told to use 100 lb Tuff Line. I had a lot of problems with the line breaking. I rarely backlash, so it isn't being caused by a lot of them, or even a few. It almost seems like the line can't handle the tension from big blades and fast reeling. Throughout the line I can see frays in the line. Anyone else have that problem?

What lines are you having good luck with? I need to change out before I get started in a month. Thanks.

Check the guides on your rod. You most likely have a broken guide that is causing the fraying of your line.

Take a Q Tip, rub it around the inside of all your rod guides. If it catches anywhere, that is your problem. I bet you have a damaged guide.
